AHA PALS Provider Renewal Course

The Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support renewal course is designed for Pediatricians, House Staff, Emergency Physicians, Family Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists, and other Healthcare Providers who are responsible for responding to emergencies involving infants and children.

To prepare for the course you must complete the following:

• Review the learning station competency checklists in the PALS Provider Manual.
• Understand the PALS algorithms and flowcharts for the case scenarios in the PALS Provider Manual.
• Complete the four-part PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment and Pre-course Work: https://elearning.heart.org/course/426). It includes Video Lessons, ECG Recognition, Pharmacology, and Application. Click the link to access the Pre-course work https://elearning.heart.org/course/426. The completion certificate must be dated no earlier than 6 months prior to the start of the class.  

*All students must have a current AHA PALS book and MUST complete the Pre-Course Self-Assessment and Pre-course Work prior to the date of the class.

If this is not completed students will need to reschedule. Please bring the completion certificate to the class or you can email the certificate to cong@maimo.org. *

Pre-requisites: 

• Current AHA PALS Provider card.
• Practical knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and ability to recognize arrhythmias.
• Cardiovascular pharmacology for children; mechanism of action, indications, dosage and precautions for emergency medications.

Please note there will be a $35.00 processing fee which will be charged to your account for ALL cancellations greater than 24 hrs. prior to class start date. If you drop the class within 24 hours of the course start date there will be no refund.
